Keeping the ThreatLocker agent up to date ensures that your endpoints benefit from the latest features, security improvements, and performance enhancements. This guide outlines the steps to update the agent on a selected device from the ThreatLocker Portal.
Objective
The goal of this guide is to provide a step-by-step method to safely and completely update the ThreatLocker agent in a target machine using the ThreatLocker Portal.
Implementation
Updating the agent is done directly through the ThreatLocker Portal and requires just a few clicks. The process is simple and does not require reinstallation or manual intervention on the device itself.
Step 1: Locate the Device
Go to the Devices tab in the ThreatLocker Portal and find and select the device you want to update. You can view the current agent version in the list or in the device details panel.

Step 2: Initiate the Update
With the device selected, click on the “Upgrade Version” button. Then, choose the desired agent version you want to deploy and click “Change Version” to confirm the upgrade.

Step 3: Restart the Agent
After changing the version, the agent may restart automatically.
To ensure the update is complete, you can manually restart the agent if needed.

Once restarted, verify that the new version number is displayed in the Devices tab.
